An incredible service by Diego. Who welcomed me and even gave incredible recommendations. The Gaucho empanada was absolutely amazing? my favourite i’ve had in Argentina! One of my earliest steak experiences in Argentina and did not realise it that locals appreciate their steak cooked a bit more done than i would have liked. But overall fantastic experience and Diego just made it that much more better. Would recommend to anyone in San Telmo
Fantastic experience at Don Alberro! Located right in the heart of the San Telmo Mercado, the atmosphere here is buzzing and vibrant. My server, Diego, was great. Overall the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming to me as a solo diner. The food was excellent, and while the service was quick, I never felt rushed. The staff makes you feel right at home and you can tell they wnjoy their work. I Will definitely be back for the empanadas and the awesome vibe!
Found this when we're searching somewhere to eat at Mercado San Telmo. There's a lot of place to eat for Choripan but we noticed this since there's a nearby cafe right in the middle. I ordered the Promo 1 just to get a taste of Argentinian sausage. Also, so I am sure I get to finish everything since the other promos are kind of a lot for one person, haha. It was really nice! It is true Argentinian sausage is very nice. The meat was cooked just right, savory, and tasty. A must try! Our waiter, Franco, was great too. He was very friendly and attentive to our needs. He even asked if we can connect to their WiFi which I am not sure if customers can connect to 😅 overall, a great experience for me. Definitely something to go back to so I can try other dishes they offer.
I tried several empanadas, including the ham and cheese, Caprese, lamb and pork. Easily the best empanadas I’ve ever had. The dough was cooked perfectly, and the fillings were delicious, cooked to perfection, seasoned well and served hot. Shout out to chef Diego and the staff as they took excellent care of us. We will be coming back. I highly recommend the spot.
Excellent food and service. We had steak and Argentinian sausage sandwich with fresh cut fries. The meat was full of flavour and tender in a toasted bun stuffed full with diced sausage. Everything cooked fresh to perfection in an open kitchen next door. The staff were very cheery and friendly (English speaking) and there was no wait time. Complimentary bread was served with chimchurri sauce and another olive oil based 'pickles'. It was near closing time and they didn't rush us to finish our meal. If you got to have a meat meal, go to the Fonda. Your belly will be satisfied as you savour the wide selection of meat cuts available.
