Centauro was the best experience we had in Mendoza. Best fine-dining gluten-free experience I’ve ever had. 12/10 would recommend!
I would not recommend this place. We come from California. We have traveled to different parts of Argentina. This is probably the least favorite restaurant so far. To start, the wine pours are maybe a finger worth of wine if you order by the glass. They want you to buy the bottle. Then, the food was cold. The meat was not seasoned, cold, and from the cooking presentation, it was not cooked with a chefs touch. This place is overpriced for what it is. And please beware, Argentina does not require a tip. Yet here, they add it to the bill as a suggestion, however they push it on you as if it’s an obligation. They add ten percent, to which, if not aware, you’ll end up paying it. You can reject their tip amount.
Lovely restaurant with excellent service and beautiful environment. Nice reception on arrival and bags placed away in coat check after arriving from airport. Warmly welcomed by Luciana who was our waiter with excellent English which made up for my terrible Spanish. Seated in small rooms of a few tables which ensured a quiet and calm atmosphere. Wine recommendation from the sommelier was an excellent cab franc that was from a local winery. Absolutely delicious. Luciana provided a knowledgeable explanation of the menu and looked after us impeccably. Entrees were lovely, especially the viccisoise with the tomato. We were given an extra glass to allow both of us to try it. My friends dumpling was also excellent. Mains were beautifully presented by slightly lacklustre in taste. All beautiful ingredients but flavour was slightly lacking. Desserts were interesting flavours and presentation and peach dessert had many textures, but once again, slightly underwhelming flavour of mine, and overpowering blue cheese flavour in the other. Overall great ideas and creative, but flavour profile wasn’t enough for me on mains or desserts. Absolutely lovely service and environment made for a great evening.
Amazing food, we had the best tasting menu, the service was impeccable and very knowledgeable, especially with the wines. Great value and super cool spot that you should definitely try when here ! We’ve had a great time. Thanks to all the team :)
Such a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional, as was the food and wine. We loved the 8 course meal, especially the two desserts. Everything was well balanced and cooked well. For the mains, the trout was a standout, which was unexpected with steak on the menu. Highly recommend!
