Fantastic meal. We got the 5 course meat focused menu and every dish was fantastic. We sat outside in the beautiful courtyard.

Without a doubt this was the best meat, albeit the priciest, that we ate in our entire month in Argentina. I am not sure I knew beef could taste or feel like this. We did the five course meat menu. It was A LOT. Every course was a win but by the end I was so full I couldn’t eat the last one 🤣 each course was a meat with potato. A microcosm of greens came with two of the courses. The atmosphere was great and the service was second to none. Certainly a special meal that cost a lot, so unless you’re a multi millionaire maybe not a place to eat often but wow - so glad we experienced it this one amazing time!

I thought it wasn’t possible to be blown away after living in New York City for the past five years. But I can confidently say 1884 is best-in-class and if they were in NYC you’d be hard pressed to secure a reservation. Culinary Highlights: Every dish was incredibly fresh and expertly executed. We had the burrata, shrimp, octopus, gnocchi, waygu, lamb, and dessert. • The Star of the Show: The wagyu was so tender you could probably eat it with no teeth. • The Flavors: The burrata was exceptionally flavorful, I didn’t know it could taste like that. • The Wine: The local wine pairings were special and perfectly curated, adding a beautiful dimension to the meal. I’ll be searching for the Torrontés at my local wine shop. • The Surprise: They served a cream palate cleanser with dessert that was on the sour side. It helped cut through the sweetness (though not too sweet) of the five dessert tasting (the complimentary espresso and the wine pairing helped too). Family-Friendly Note: While they are not a traditional "baby-friendly" restaurant (they don't have high chairs available), the staff was extremely kind and accommodating to our daughter. Who was quietly enjoying her first four course meal (she’s a sucker for free bread and homemade butter, who isn’t). Areas for Improvement: • Ambiance: The lighting in the dining room and hallway was inconsistent in color temperature (different shades/tones), which slightly disrupted the atmosphere. • The Grill Door: The door used to access the grill closes quite loudly at times. A soft-close mechanism would go a long way in maintaining the peaceful vibe of the room. Overall: An unforgettable meal with soul and character. Highly recommended. I wonder if some of the negative reviews are from competitors, because our experience here was exceptional.

This restaurant delivers! Attention to detail is clearly there from the cutlery, the decoration, and even the music selection. Service is flawless and kind. Yes, this is an expensive menu, but you won’t go hungry, and the food will be some of the best Argentinian you will try.
