The food was delicious! We ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and provolone cheese. Steak was cooked perfectly and the provolone cheese was tasty. However, the restaurant was extremely cold during our visit. We had to keep our jackets on throughout our lunch but still we could not get warm, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, I also can’t say that the staff were friendly or welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. I hope they improve the heating and the customer service for future guests.
If you are looking for an upscale, pretentious steakhouse, keep walking. **Santos Manjares** is wonderfully simple, entirely unpretentious, and a favorite among locals—which tells you everything you need to know. The star of the show is undeniably the steak. Every cut is cooked to absolute perfection, boasting a beautiful sear while remaining incredibly juicy and tender on the inside. Unlike places that only offer heavy starches, their excellent choice of sides includes fresh, well-prepared vegetables alongside perfectly crispy, golden homemade fries. It is authentic, delicious, and straightforward. A must-visit for real food lovers.
Great food and service. We arrived at about 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday and had no wait. The service was great and the steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely worth a vistif you're in BA. We received a 15 percent discount for paying with cash.
To be honest, the steak is average but the price is quite reasonable. Half of the customers seem local, the atmosphere is super. We arrived 5 pm on Sunday, waited for about 10 minutes, all tables are fully occupied. Staff are very friendly and helpful, although they are always busy, they respond quickly. Recommend if you are in BA for short time and wish to have a local restaurant experience.
Cannot recommend this place enough. Staff are friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is lovely and the food is excellent. We tried the bife de chorizo & the size of the steak was very generous! The flavours were mouthwatering and the wine we had paired perfectly. The prices are also very affordable and even more so if you pay by cash as there’s a 15% discount!
