Description

Experience the Patagonian night sky on a guided astronomy tour in El Calafate. This evening excursion combines stargazing, science, nature, and a traditional dinner at Estancia Cruz Aike, located along the iconic Route 40. The tour begins with hotel pickup in El Calafate and a scenic drive through the Patagonian landscape, offering views of Lake Argentino, the Santa Cruz River, and the Andes in the background. Upon arrival at Estancia Cruz Aike, you’ll have free time to explore the facilities and enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Patagonian estancia. Later in the evening, dinner will be served in one of the estancia’s dining areas, featuring a regional menu with beverages included. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available upon prior request. After dinner, the astronomy experience begins. An expert astronomer with over 10 years of experience will introduce you to the night sky through a short audiovisual presentation. You will then observe stars, constellations, the Milky Way, nebulae, satellites, and learn about astronomical concepts and mythology using professional telescopes. At the end of the experience, you’ll enjoy a group photo and a light painting activity before returning to your hotel in El Calafate.
