After finishing our Beagle Channel tour, we walked past this restaurant and were attracted by the amazing smell coming from inside. It smelled so good that we decided to stop here for a late lunch. The restaurant was warm and cozy, which was perfect after spending time outside in the strong wind. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed our meal. The only minor downside was that some dishes were a bit salty for my taste, but overall it was still a very pleasant dining experience.
Food is very good, menu is extensive and options for everyone. BUT service is not good, this is a very crowded place as all tourists go there (I joined a group of frineds here, was not my choice) so all waiters are rushing as crazy and trying to memorize the orders and then billing but seems like they need more staff for the demand because to take an order they take around 10min, then the food comes in around 20, then you ask for the bill after trying to make eye contact with a waiter for ~10min and they tell you ok, 5min later they give you the bill on your table and they walk away, you need to try to tell them your payment method and then after 15min they will come again to process it unless it's cash. You cannot go and pay to the cashier to expedite the process if you pay with card, they will ask you to take your sit and wait. I would go to another place a little bit further from the main street. Food is good but they need to improve service.
We were initially drawn in by the roasting meats in their front window, very cool. Our waiter Nahuel was very kind, informative, and attentive. He helped us navigate the menu as first timers here (and in Argentina for that matter). Very nice experience! :)
As a Tourguide I come in Ushuaia normally twice a year with my groups. Years ago I visited Casimiro Bigua first time and I have been coming ever since! Until now. I was so looking forward to a nice dinner, but it ended in disappointment. You can still eat nicely, but now it is just an average restaurant with too salty items and staff that makes mistakes. I ordered an entree, but the forgot and came out with the main course. Took it back and waited again for the entree. No sorry no nothing from the waiter. I got the entree and then the main course and I am pretty sure with the same french fries double cooked… Then he forgot my drink…. Meat is okay but nothing special anymore. French fries are drenched in salt! Staff was not into their customers. Too bad. Not their standard as in the past. I will be back in October but I will be looking for a new favourite restaurant.
A warm and welcoming steakhouse atmosphere in Ushuaia, with a strong focus on grilled meat and traditional Argentine flavors. The setting is comfortable and relaxed, ideal for a proper sit-down meal after a day out. The grilled beef was the highlight of the experience: thick cuts, nicely seared on the outside and tender inside, cooked exactly as requested. The quality of the meat is very good and clearly the main strength of the menu. A selection of house sauces is served on the side, including classic chimichurri and creamier options, all well balanced and enhancing the meat without overpowering it. Portions are generous and satisfying. Desserts were well executed and nicely presented, offering a pleasant and not overly sweet finish to the meal. Service was attentive and efficient, with staff available to explain the cuts and make suggestions. A solid and reliable choice in Ushuaia for anyone looking for good-quality grilled meat in a pleasant, informal setting.
