Tour Details
The free tour of the San Telmo neighbourhood begins at the entrance of the Franciscan Museum of Monseñor Fray José María Bottaro, located at Calle Adolfo Alsina, 380, in front of the Basilica of Saint Francis.
We will first visit this basilica before moving to the ancient La Estrella Pharmacy and the Library of Ávila. Next, we will visit Saint Ignatius of Loyola's Church to discuss the capital's Jesuit history.
We will then pass the emblematic Casa de Rosas and proceed to the Convent of Saint Dominic, where we will visit the Mausoleum of Manuel Belgrano. After learning its history, we will head to the famous Mafalda statue for a photo opportunity.
Next, we will visit Casa Mínima, the narrowest house in Buenos Aires, followed by El Viejo Almacén, a significant tango venue. We will learn about this cultural movement and its past.
We'll also explore the San Telmo Market to try a dulce de leche delicacy. Finally, we will go to the Church of San Pedro Telmo, the principal church in this neighbourhood, before concluding our tour at Dorrego Square after a total duration of 2 hours.
