Description
Begin the tour at Ushuaia's tourist dock, boarding a modern boat. Sail across Ushuaia Bay and enter the Beagle Channel via Paso Chico. Pass Bird Island, home to Tierra del Fuego seabirds such as skuas, black-browed albatrosses, steamer ducks, cauquenes, cook seagulls, and gray seagulls.
Next, visit Sea Lion Island in the Bridges Archipelago, inhabited by two species of sea lions. Continue to Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, where colonies of imperial and rocky cormorants reside. Learn about the 1930 SS Monte Cervantes shipwreck.
Sail eastward through the Beagle Channel's mountain-surrounded landscapes, viewing Puerto Almanza on Argentina’s coast and Puerto Williams Naval Base in Chile. Finally, stop at Martillo Island (Penguin Island) to observe colonies of Magellanic and Papua penguins. The tour ends with a return to the starting dock.
