Description
For generations, the roads that separate the vineyards from the wineries in Lujan de Cuyo were traveled by carts loaded with freshly harvested grapes on their way to becoming wine. This self-guided bike tour follows that same historic route, at your own pace and without fixed schedules within the available time slot.
The start is simple: you get on your bike and ride along bike paths with vineyards in sight, with the Andes Range as a backdrop. There's no tour guide setting the pace; the tour is yours. You can stop to take photos, cross an irrigation ditch, or simply breathe in the air of the foothills for as long as you like.
The path takes you, like the grapes more than a century ago, to a local bodega in Luján de Cuyo, where the trip ends: a guided visit to the facilities and a wine tasting that closes the circle between the vineyard and the glass. There you learn about the process that transforms what you saw growing along the way into the wine you are tasting.
Designed for small groups of 2 to 10 people, so the pace remains personal and intimate, and no previous cycling experience is required. At the end of your tour, you return by bike to the starting point, where you return the bike within the established time.
