Description
Immerse yourself in the vibrant wildlife of Patagonia on this exciting sightseeing tour designed for nature lovers!
ABOUT THE SIGHTSEEING TOUR
The excursion begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. After a short tour of the city to learn about its history, we'll head to Trelew. Our first stop is the replica of the Patagotitan Mayorum, the largest dinosaur in the world found to date. We'll learn all about the past, when dinosaurs reigned in the region.
We will continue our route to the Playa Unión resort, where we will have free time to explore the coast and take photographs, or to embark on the 1.5-hour 'Avistaje de Toninas Overas' (Overa Dolphin Watching) cruise (optional, NOT included in the final price). The boat trip runs along the mouth of the Chubut River towards the open sea in search of the smallest dolphin of all, the Tonina Overa. It is possible to book the sighting on the same day as the excursion. Please consult your tour guide.
We'll then head back to Playa Isla Escondida, where we can see the magnificent and imposing elephant seals, just 15 meters from the coast. After enjoying some free time to observe them with great respect and learn from them, we'll continue our journey to the penguin colony.
Punta Tombo is one of the most scenic reserves in Chubut Province, combining the blue sea and the red volcanic rocks from the Jurassic period. There, we'll immerse ourselves in the world of the Magellanic Penguins along a trail of 3 kilometers (in total) to observe them and walk among them. If nature allows and if we pay attention to the landscape, we'll be able to spot wonderful Patagonian species, such as guanacos, choiques, maras, and martinetas, among others. Once the trail is finished, you'll have free time for lunch at 'DeliStore' or for a picnic if you have your own food/snacks.
On the drive along the gravel roads, the safari continues on land: keep an eye out for guanacos crossing the Patagonian landscape.
After a day filled with nature in its purest form, we'll return to Puerto Madryn to drop you off at your accommodation.
