Description
Begin your self-guided cycling experience through the Maipu Wine Route in Mendoza, Argentina. Your day starts at Maipu Bikes, where you’ll receive a basic 26-inch MTB bicycle, helmet, printed and digital maps, route recommendations, and a clear explanation of the route before departure. Mechanical assistance is available during the ride if needed. The route is approximately 12–16 km and mostly flat. It takes place through Maipú’s urban and wine-growing area and mainly follows a dedicated bike lane alongside Maipu’s main road, where there is regular vehicle traffic. The bike lane runs alongside open irrigation ditches, and some access roads near the wineries do not have dedicated bike lanes. Good bicycle handling and attention to traffic and road conditions are essential. This is a self-guided experience, not a guided group tour. The itinerary below represents the usual route and is provided as a suggested itinerary to help you plan your day. A typical route connects Trapiche, Viña El Cerno, Mevi and Tempus Alba, with the visits, tasting and lunch described below. Your first typical stop is Trapiche Winery, one of Mendoza’s historic wineries, founded in 1883. Explore the exterior areas, vineyards and surroundings, visit the Gift Shop, and enjoy a non-guided tasting of one glass of Lateral or a similar wine. Continue to Viña El Cerno, a small family-run winery focused on artisanal wine production. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided visit to the winery followed by a tasting of three varietal wines. Next, head to Mevi Winery for a four-course lunch paired with wines from the winery. The menu includes meat and vegetarian options, with gluten-free and vegan alternatives available. The route continues to Tempus Alba Winery, where you’ll enjoy a self-guided visit and have the opportunity to explore the winery and its surroundings. You’ll also receive a 15% discount at the winery’s Food Truck. The itinerary may be reorganized depending on winery opening hours, availability or operational circumstances on the day of your experience. If a planned stop needs to be changed, we will inform you and arrange an appropriate alternative within the experience. After completing the route, cycle back to Maipu Bikes. Your experience ends with the Maipu Bikes Happy Hour, including free Malbec.Includes
