Description
This full-day tour explores the landscapes along the Mendoza River, including the Cordón de Plata mountain range and Potrerillos Dam, a key hydropower and irrigation site.
The first stop is Uspallata, where visitors explore the remains of the Huarpes pre-Hispanic community and learn about the southernmost Inca Trail from Peru that reached this area.
The tour continues through the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, and Punta de Vacas. Along the way, you will pass the Puente del Inca, a natural rock formation with hot springs.
The journey ascends to the Cerro Aconcagua viewpoint, overlooking the highest peak in the Americas at 6,959 meters, Laguna Horcones, and Aconcagua Provincial Park.
The final stop is Las Cuevas, a village at 3,200 meters elevation. From here, a path leads to the Cristo Redentor monument at 4,200 meters, symbolizing Argentina-Chile unity. Note this site is accessible only during summer months.
The tour returns to Mendoza in the afternoon.
