Overview

This full-day tour explores Iguassu Waterfalls from the Argentine side, suitable for adults seeking nature and adventure in Iguazú National Park.

Highlights

  • View Iguassu Waterfalls from Argentina’s side of the border
  • Learn about local fauna and flora
  • Experience the Devil’s Throat Trail
  • Enjoy a boat ride beneath the waterfalls

Description

You will be picked up from your accommodation and escorted to a currency exchange office to obtain Argentine pesos, required to enter Iguazú National Park. The tour includes two customs stops: one for foreigners at Brazilian Customs and another at Argentine Customs.

A train departs every 30 minutes to the upper section of the falls, where the trails and walkways begin. The trail ends at the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), the largest waterfall in the park, accessed by a 2,080-meter footbridge. Pause to observe the surrounding landscape before continuing to the Superior Circuit. There, six observatories offer resting spots with extensive views over the park.

Next, take the Lower Circuit trail, which passes eight observatories close to the waterfalls. The Gran Aventura boat experience combines jungle exploration and scenic waterfall views, representing key features of the national park.

From the Operations Center or Visitors Center, enter the forest via the narrow Yacaratiá path. Guides fluent in Spanish and English provide insight into the area's natural and cultural heritage. The tour proceeds 5 kilometers by vehicle to the Macuco Port jungle base.

After descending 100 meters to the pier, board a boat for a 6-kilometer journey along the Iguassu River to rapids near the waterfalls. You will reach the base of the Three Musketeers Falls, viewing both Brazilian and Argentine falls with Devil's Throat in the background.

The boat approaches San Martin Falls, the second largest in the park, which is too large to navigate closely. The return trip includes 2 kilometers of rapids before docking at Porto Macuco. Climb 150 feet of stairs to the Macuco stop and travel by vehicle along the Yacaratiá trail to the tour’s conclusion near the Old Cataratas Hotel. You will then be returned to your accommodation.
