Description

@tigregrillwine see our videos! Special launch price! We’re offering this experience at a lower rate while we gather our first reviews — the quality and setting are way above the price. Most travelers see Tigre from the window of a sightseeing boat. That’s beautiful — but it only scratches the surface. This experience is different. It’s for travelers who want to connect — to slow down, share stories, and taste Argentina from the inside. Tigre is one train ride away from Retiro Station (about 15 blocks from Obelisco). The train takes approximately 60 min, or about 30 min by Uber (depending on traffic) at a cost of around USD16 I’m Nelson, and I’ll be your host, guide, and cook for the day. You don’t need to speak Spanish to enjoy the day — I’m not fully bilingual, but we’ll understand each other easily. There’s phone signal if you need translator, though smiles, food, and wine usually say it all. At 10:00 AM sharp, we’ll board the same boat locals take to reach their island homes. (Please arrive by 9:40 AM; there’s a McDonald’s and restrooms nearby.) The ride itself is an experience — calm rivers, floating houses, and a glimpse into daily island life that few visitors ever see. When we arrive, we’ll take a relaxed walk (30min) through my island neighborhood. There are no cars here, only paths and boats. I’ll show you how people live, build, and move with the tides — a slower rhythm that’s hard to imagine until you feel it. It’s also possible to come by water taxi to skip the walk, for an additional cost Our destination is my family’s private quincho, a space reserved for meals with friends. This is not a restaurant — it’s our place, and today, it’s yours too. I’ll prepare a six-course Argentine asado over wood fire: local cuts, and premium wines. You’re welcome to join me around the fire, learn the techniques behind our barbecue tradition, help season the meat, or simply enjoy the aromas and stories that come with every step of the cooking. 1- Round-trip boat ride on the same boats used by locals 2- Guided walk through an authentic island neighborhood 3- Traditional mate tasting with local alfajor 4- Interactive Argentine cooking class around the fire 5- Preparation and tasting of homemade chimichurri sauce 6- Full six-course Argentine asado, featuring: 7- Choripán (grilled chorizo sandwich) 8- Morcilla (blood sausage) 9- Provoleta (grilled provolone cheese) 10- Sweetbreads (Argentine-style) 11- Asado, our local favorite 12- Ribeye, the world’s most beloved steak cut 13- Selection of premium Argentine wines 14- Small-group experience hosted by me, your local guide and cook It’s not a formal class — it’s a shared experience, a way to connect through food, culture, and conversation. We’ll share stories, music, and food the way Argentines do — slowly, honestly, surrounded by nature. Groups are small so everyone feels part of the table. Many guests tell me it feels less like a tour and more like visiting a friend they didn’t know they had.
