Description
From El Calafate, we'll start the ascent to the Huyliche Ridge, passing through the Cañadón del Arroyo Calafate, where we can spot local wildlife such as guanacos, foxes, and hawks. We'll continue along a winding road to the First Balcony, a geological site with fossils and remnants of an ancient sea. From the 1,100-meter elevation of the Upper Balconies, we'll enjoy panoramic views of the Andes Mountains, the Patagonian Continental Ice Field, and Lake Argentino. On a clear day, you can see the Fitz Roy and Torre peaks. During the descent, we'll visit El Laberinto de Piedras, a rock formation with fossils and caves, an ideal spot for photos (this stop is not made during periods of thaw or rain). We'll finish at Estancia Huyliche, a historic property, where lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner will be served, depending on the time.Includes
