Description

Spend time inside a real working couture atelier in Buenos Aires, set within the historic Bencich Building. Hosted by fashion designer Lourdes, founder of Alium Atelier, this hands on experience brings you into the daily world of design, fabric, and traditional craftsmanship. You will learn the basics of couture hand sewing, create your own romantic bow, and enjoy botanical tea in an intimate creative setting. Your experience begins with a welcome and introduction to the atelier. As you step into the workshop, you will discover the space's story, Lourdes’ design process, and the atmosphere of an active studio. From there, you will move into a guided fabric exploration while enjoying botanical tea. You will look closely at different textiles and learn how to notice texture, weight, grain, and drape, all key elements in garment making. Next, Lourdes will introduce the foundations of couture hand sewing techniques and explain how different stitches are used in clothing construction. After watching a detailed demonstration, you will try the techniques yourself with step by step guidance. You will then choose your fabric and begin creating your own signature couture bow. As you finish your piece, you can add final details and explore different ways to wear it, whether as a hair accessory or a brooch. The experience ends with your handmade creation complete, a chance to take photos, and your couture bow ready to take home as a keepsake from Buenos Aires.
