The tour begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation, heading to Peninsula Valdés. After about 40 minutes, you’ll arrive at the El Desempeño checkpoint to pay the reserve entrance fee, approximately USD 30 depending on the season.
Next, visit the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center, where you can explore informative exhibits, view a complete Southern Right Whale skeleton, and see panoramic views of the Nuevo and San José Gulfs from a lookout tower.
Traveling on to Puerto Pirámides, keep an eye out for local wildlife along the way. At the town, embark on a whale watching boat tour in Golfo Nuevo aboard rigid-hull or semi-rigid inflatables, accommodating up to 50 passengers. The boat tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
After the boat tour, enjoy some free time to explore the local Villas Turísticas. In the afternoon, visit the El Doradillo Natural Protected Area, recognized as one of the best shore-based whale watching locations, where whales can often be seen just meters from the coast.
