Description
Discover the Buenos Aires that saw Jorge Bergoglio grow up and visit the places that were part of his journey to becoming Pope Francis. This experience invites you to travel back in time to learn about his roots, his childhood, his education, and the places that deeply shaped his personal and spiritual history.
Throughout the tour, you'll discover a different Buenos Aires: the neighborhoods, streets, and churches that were part of Bergoglio's daily life. Each stop reveals a part of his story and helps you understand how the experiences that accompanied his journey of faith were built.
You'll visit the Basílica San José de Flores, one of the most important places in his spiritual history. This church is linked to a decisive moment in his life, which marked the beginning of a path that years later would take him to the Vatican.
The tour continues at the Church of Mary Help of Christians and the Wilfrid Barón Salesian School, places related to his education and his early years of formation. There, you can learn about the environment in which he grew up and discover the influence that education, the community, and Salesian values had on his journey.
We'll also visit his birthplace, currently open for exterior visits, to see the place where the first chapters of his life began and to learn about the family history of the man who years later would become one of Argentina's most recognized figures worldwide.
Finally, we'll arrive at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires, the religious heart of the city and the setting for a fundamental part of his career as a priest, bishop, and archbishop of Buenos Aires.
More than a sightseeing tour, it's a journey in the footsteps of a man who left a profound mark on Argentine and world history. Through churches, neighborhoods, stories, and memories, you'll discover the man behind the Pope and the Buenos Aires that accompanied him at every stage of his journey.
An experience to feel the history, learn about its roots, and discover the city through the eyes of who Francis was.
