This full-day guided trek from El Calafate to Laguna de los Tres suits hikers aged 10 to 55 with medium to high physical fitness.
Description
The tour starts at 6:00 AM with a minibus pickup from authorized accommodations in El Calafate. Enjoy Southern Andes views, including Mount Fitz Roy’s silhouette, during the transfer to El Chaltén.
Upon arrival around 8:30 AM, hikers receive packed lunches and have a brief restroom stop before beginning the trek. The route heads first to Piedras Blancas Viewpoint, then to Laguna Capri for lunch and rest.
The group then splits into two: Group 2 returns to Laguna Capri with one guide, while Group 1 continues with the other guide through the Poincenot Base Camp area, crossing Blanco River. The trail climbs about 430 meters over 3 kilometers to reach Laguna de los Tres, located on a moraine ridge with views of the Fitz Roy massif and Glaciar de los Tres.
The group has lunch here, enjoying the natural scenery, before descending back to El Chaltén. Departure for El Calafate is at 7:00 PM.
