Description
Departing from Bariloche, the tour follows National Route 40 South for 45 km through diverse landscapes. It passes Huenuleo Pampa, borders Lake Gutiérrez, and crosses Pilmayen and Melgarejo streams, offering striking panoramic views at every turn.
At the watershed, the route reaches serene Mascardi Lake, then continues on a gravel road along its western shore. The Isla Corazón viewpoint provides broad views of the lake and forested surroundings.
The journey proceeds past Cerro Los Emparedados and follows the Manso Superior River to Pampa Linda, where visitors can observe Cerro Tronador’s dramatic peaks.
The route crosses Vuriloches Valley’s shaded forest to reach Ventisquero Negro, a distinctive black glacier. The excursion ends at Cerro Tronador’s base, rising 3,454 meters with three prominent peaks: International, Argentine, and Chilean.
