Description
Leave Mendoza in the morning for a full-day hiking experience in the Cordón del Plata, one of the main mountain areas of the Central Andes.
After approximately 1.5 hours by vehicle, arrive in the Vallecitos mountain area, where you’ll meet the trail and prepare for the hike with your guide.
The hiking portion lasts approximately 4 to 6 hours, depending on the route selected, your group’s fitness and experience, weather, and mountain conditions.
There is no single fixed trail for every booking. Your guide selects the most suitable option for the day, allowing the experience to range from a moderate hike through high mountain valleys to a more demanding route toward higher viewpoints and summits when the group and conditions allow.
During the hike, stop for breaks, enjoy a trail lunch, and explore the Cordón del Plata on foot, surrounded by mountain streams, rocky terrain, wide valleys, and views of some of the highest peaks in the area.
After completing the hike, return to the vehicle and begin the approximately 1.5-hour drive back to Mendoza.
The complete experience takes approximately 8 to 10 hours, including transportation and hiking.
We keep groups small so the guide can adjust the pace, route, and hiking objective according to the participants, weather, and mountain conditions rather than following the same itinerary on every departure.
Round-trip transportation from Mendoza, professional mountain guide, trail lunch and snacks, trekking poles upon request, first-aid equipment, and personal accident insurance are included in the price.
