Description
We set sail from the local tourist pier, traveling through the wide Bay of Ushuaia until we reach the Beagle Channel through the Paso Chico. There we will sail around Bird Island where we can appreciate the birdlife of Tierra del Fuego. We will see: skuas, black-browed albatrosses, steamer ducks, cauquenes, kelp gulls, and gray gulls. Then, we will approach Lobos Island, where we can observe South American fur seals and South American sea lions. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago. Upon arriving at Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, we will see colonies of imperial cormorants and rock cormorants while listening to the story of the sinking of the SS Monte Cervantes in 1930.
This cruise includes a stop at Puerto Karelo, part of the Bridges Islands, where you can visit authentic Yámana shell middens. This guided walk lasts approximately 20 minutes and takes us to a panoramic viewpoint where you can take some great photos.
At the end of the trip, you will be amazed by the view of the mountain range that surrounds the city of Ushuaia and the sumptuous nature that surrounds it. The tour we take is full of historical and, of course, scenic value. We visit really interesting places that you should not miss the opportunity to see.
