Description

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Puerto Madryn to Punta Tombo, the world’s largest continental colony of Magellanic penguins. Along the way, listen to your guide share interesting facts about the Patagonian landscape, wildlife, and history of the area. Make a brief comfort stop in Trelew about halfway through the trip. Upon arrival, explore the reserve along a designated 3 km walking trail. Observe Magellanic penguins up close as they nest, care for their young, and interact in their natural environment. Depending on the month, you might see them courting, incubating eggs, feeding chicks, or molting before their long migration north. After the wildlife experience, drive back to Trelew for the second highlight of the day. Enjoy a guided visit to the renowned Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), home to an impressive collection of fossils, dinosaur skeletons, and reconstructions that showcase Patagonia’s prehistoric past. The museum features one of the most complete dinosaur exhibits in the region and offers a fascinating look into the giants that once roamed this land. Entrance to the Punta Tombo Protected Natural Area and the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum NOT INCLUDED. After the museum visit, make your way back to Puerto Madryn, arriving in the late afternoon.
