Description

We will depart from the city of Puerto Madryn heading south, about 17km away. We will access the private Estancia San Guillermo where we will be welcomed with mates and hot fried cakes (typical Argentinean custom). We will observe animals such as guanacos, sheep, goats, chickens and various birds that enhance the place. In the shearing room, we will be able to enjoy a live demonstration of the traditional shearing, activity by means of which the wool is extracted from the sheep, while we enjoy a previous introductory talk. After a delicious snack, we will go trekking identifying different geological strata that describe the natural historical past of the region, finding marine fossils more than 10 million years old. Once at the top of Cerro Avanzado and 108 meters above sea level, we will begin our descent, where we will meet our transportation and head to the Punta Loma Natural Protected Area to observe sea lions and different marine and coastal birds with which these animals share the environment. After touring the flora trail, we will return to the city of Puerto Madryn. Depending on the time of the tides, the visit to the Loberia may vary being before or after the arrival to the estancia.
