Description

Depart from El Calafate through the gravel route nº 15, also known as 'Path of the Estancias', which offers the opportunity to see condors, foxes and hares, with Cerro Frias as a prominent feature. After crossing the Rico River, the landscape changes abruptly and becomes mountainous. Upon entering Los Glaciares National Park, you'll arrive at Nibepo Aike where you'll be welcomed with hot drinks and homemade pastries in the Quincho, with breathtaking views of the Andes. A walk reveals the facilities of the estancia, which was formerly dedicated to sheep production and is now a prestigious Hereford cattle ranch. As an integral part of the experience, participants will enjoy a horseback ride led by a baqueano, this part usually lasts for approximately one hour/45 minutes. Later, you'll visit a shearing shed and historical museum, where you'll learn about the work of the estancia and have the opportunity to participate in activities such as milking and sheep herding. The day concludes with a Patagonian lamb barbecue in the Quincho, where stories of the area are shared, and the stunning Cordillera view is admired. At the end of the meal, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate.
