Description

Our city tour begins at the Pinguinos Expediciones office, and from there we will head to La Misión neighborhood in our vehicle. From this spot, we can enjoy an incredible view of the southernmost part of the Andes Mountain range in America. This location was one of the places chosen by the native people, and later by the first white settlers, to inhabit the Bay of Ushuaia. This will provide the guide an opportunity to begin telling the story of human settlement in the Beagle Channel, a narrative that will continue throughout the tour. The excursion will proceed with visits to the most important places in the historic center, including the giant letter sign of the city’s name, the Ushuaia port, the former Ushuaia Prison and Jail for Repeat Offenders, now turned into a museum (we do not enter the museum), and will finally head to the Martial Glacier Reserve. Once on the mountain, we visit the tea house and the beer point. We will then return to the city center and drop off all passengers who wish to return to their hotel. This tour must be booked at list 24 hs in advance!
