Buenos Aires Domes Tour

The Buenos Aires of the 19th and 20th centuries was very prolific in monumental buildings crowned by domes. To begin, we will meet at 9 am next to the pyramid of Plaza de Mayo.

We will start by walking to the Bencich Building to admire its two huge five-story domes, designed in 1927 by architect Eduardo Le Monnier. From this location, we will also observe the First National Bank of Boston, known as Banco de Boston.

Next, we will head to San Telmo to view the Casal de Catalunya, a neo-Gothic-Modernist building. Our itinerary includes the Otto Wulff Building, characterized by its domes reflecting the Jugendstil variant of Art Nouveau.

We'll continue to Avenida de Mayo to explore the façades and domes of Hotel Chile and Palacio Barolo. We will also pause in front of the National Congress of Argentina to appreciate its 80-meter high dome.

On Avenida Rivadavia, we will visit two examples of the Art Nouveau style: the Confitería del Molino and Casa de los Lirios.

The tour will conclude at 11 am next to the 'No Hay Sueños Imposibles' building. Before ending, we will share the story behind this building's name.
